Who We Are

Our History

Speech Tactics began its journey in 2012, initially offering speech therapy exclusively in Mecklenburg County. Over the following four years, the organization expanded, boasting a team of five speech therapists. Responding to the requests of committed parents, we decided to enhance our services by incorporating occupational therapy, aiming to provide greater convenience for children in need of multidisciplinary care. In 2016, our first Occupational Therapist (OTR) joined the team. By 2018, our clinical staff had grown to nearly 15 therapists, encompassing both speech and occupational therapy expertise.

This period of growth led us to secure a 3500-square-foot office in Charlotte, and with ambitious plans in mind, we anticipated the opening of our first satellite office in Monroe in 2019 to meet the needs of families who were traveling long distance to our Charlotte office. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic in 2020, it turned out to be a pivotal year in the history of Speech Tactics. While it presented formidable obstacles, it also marked a transformative chapter for both the organization and its CEO.

Our Mission

We continue our mission of expanding accessible, centralized, and quality pediatric care for families of children with special needs. Our focus is on comprehensive therapy, integrative programming, service excellence, and community engagement to help bridge the care continuity gaps in pediatric healthcare. We exist to innovate and transform the pediatric therapy experience to achieve long-term successful outcomes for our clients and their families!

From that moment forward, Speech Tactics emerged stronger with an unshakable commitment to its mission: to provide people-first and purpose-driven therapy services to families across North Carolina. The organization rose from the challenges of 2020 with a renewed focus and determination to forge ahead. Today, Speech Tactics stands as one of the most highly regarded pediatric therapy organizations in Charlotte and Monroe, and the accomplishments of the past 12 years are merely the prelude to what lies ahead. The future promises further growth, innovation, and an ongoing dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of children and families in pediatric therapy!
